Today I am introducing to you the Grand Hotel Saltjöbaden, located in the beautiful Archipelago, just a 30 minute trainride from downtown Stockholm.
The hotel dates back to the late nineteenth century when the Wallenberg family had the hotel built with the idea of a Swedish Riviera. Since then the hotel has been visited by royalty and movie stars alike, as well as guests enjoying their holidays and attending conferences.
We had the honour to stay in the Frank Sinatra Suite. On 10 May 1953 Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner checked in to this suite, which was later named after the famous musician. A spacious 100 square metres, spread over three floors, with magnificent views of the harbour and the archipelago gave us an unforgettable experience.
The first floor offers generous natural light from the large windows. With both a lounge suite and dining area, it is perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The second floor has a walk-in closet and spacious bathroom with private jacuzzi. The bedroom on the top floor of the suite features a fabulous view of the marina.
The grand Spa at offers you a peaceful experience in a calm environment. You can take a swim in the 15-metre pool, perfect for a workout. After your swim, you can relax in the jacuzzi and you will find a steam and dry sauna.
The restaurant is perfect for summer dining out on the terrace.
In total I would say the Grand Hotel Saltjöbaden is the Top Hotel of the Archipelago and one of the best in Stockholm.
