During the Winter break which is between the end of February and the first week of March schools in Sweden close for a so called “sport Lov” which literally translates into “Sport break”.
The idea is for children to get some days off school to indulge in winter activities such as skiing or ice skating in the many public ice skating rings in Stockholm. We like to ice skate in KungsträdgÃ¥rden, It’s in town and very convenient to grab a hot chocolate afterwards.
I’m glad that despite Corona, Sweden has kept many of the outdoor activities open and running. This made it easy to preoccupy the children during school half term holiday.

This was the first time my son tried skiing. He was just under 2 years old.
