Stockholm Sightseeing: Luxury Style

Today we go Sightseeing Luxury Style!
Mats Södergren from V.I.P Limousine is taking us on a very special Sightseeing Tour.
Our journey took us from Central Stockholm to see the Nordiska Museet, Swedens largest Museum of Cultural History.
From there we took if to the ABBA Museum, have some Ice Cream at Grona Lund and discover the beauty of Djurg̴rden РThe most beautiful of Stockholms 14 Islands
Yes, Stockholm consists of 14 Islands! A City in which you can catch your breath and have it taken away at the same time! A city build during the Stona Age in which its inhabitants work with the land and not against it!
Every Stockholm Guide will lead You to the Royal Palace. Build in 1967 the official residence of the Swedish Royal family.
We happened to crash into a Military Parade and took some nice Memorial Pictures.
The Royal Guards are guarding the Royal family since 1523. In fact they are the Mings very own Cavarly and Infanrty.

Stockholm Hotel Guide: Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden

Today I am introducing to you the Grand Hotel Saltjöbaden, located in the beautiful Archipelago, just a 30 minute trainride from downtown Stockholm.

The hotel dates back to the late nineteenth century when the Wallenberg family had the hotel built with the idea of a Swedish Riviera. Since then the hotel has been visited by royalty and movie stars alike, as well as guests enjoying their holidays and attending conferences.

We had the honour to stay in the Frank Sinatra Suite. On 10 May 1953 Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner checked in to this suite, which was later named after the famous musician. A spacious 100 square metres, spread over three floors, with magnificent views of the harbour and the archipelago gave us an unforgettable experience.
The first floor offers generous natural light from the large windows. With both a lounge suite and dining area, it is perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The second floor has a walk-in closet and spacious bathroom with private jacuzzi. The bedroom on the top floor of the suite features a fabulous view of the marina.

The grand Spa at offers you a peaceful experience in a calm environment. You can take a swim in the 15-metre pool, perfect for a workout. After your swim, you can relax in the jacuzzi and you will find a steam and dry sauna.

The restaurant is perfect for summer dining out on the terrace.

In total I would say the Grand Hotel Saltjöbaden is the Top Hotel of the Archipelago and one of the best in Stockholm.

A Skyview of Stockholm

The Skyview in Globen feels like Swedens answer to the London Eye or the Burj Khalifa. If you love Stockholm, then you might want to consider viewing it from 424 feet above sea level. I recently experienced Skyview with my 5 year old daughter, and she loved it, the view is truly stunning as Globen is at the heart of Södermalm.  Although height is not my forte, I really enjoyed the ride which lasted for 20 minute. Overall its a memorable thing to do with a loved one and you can take amazing pictures with Stockholm as your backdrop.

Stockholm Wildlife Safari & Köttbullar on Campfire

It was amazing to see Swedish wildlife in its natural habitat. As a wildlife lover, Moose are a great and majestic animal to spot. You don’t realise what a huge animal it is on close encounter. It was a fantastic experience to see the king of the forest (moose), different species of deer, wild boar and birds of prey. We spent an amazing time in the forest, learning not only about moose, wildboar, deer as well as, how to live off the forest. We learned how to make fire with knife and flint and ended the evening with a great Swedish Campfire Dinner (Swedish köttbullar and salad). It is not your typical tourist attraction nevertheless that’s what’s makes it so unique. Be different and try something new, chances are, you might even come to love it 🙂 thank You thegreentrails for the Amazing Evening

The best Cafe in Stockholm

Caf̬ Schweizer РIt really is the best cafe in Stockholm.

We figured this out as soon as we stepped inside.
The place is relaxed, well-decorated and offers comfy chairs perfectly positioned in front of huge windows overlooking beautiful Gamla Stan. There’s a board to leave your initials, too. I think the staff is the child friendliest I have ever had in Stockholm so far.
The food and drink here are excellent and cheap. I enjoyed coffee followed by some Water (free Water and free refill on the coffee) and a huge Fish soup and Elias got some Bullar and Cacao it was more than enough for two people to get stuffed on.
The atmosphere cozy and I can’t think of a better spot to spend a couple of hours in Stockholm – Gamla Stan, especially in the Morning to have a powerful Brunch.

Staycation is the new Vacation – Stockholm

Some of the most common VACATION concerns people have now a days:

– No time – Cant find anyone to go with – No money – Scared to fly – Afraid of the risks –

My advice to them is to take a staycation. What is a staycation?

A staycation is a vacation spent in the town you life in rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions.

Over the last year, Elias and I have been taking plenty staycations. As you might know we just had a staycation at a Yacht in Bockholmen. It’s an Island in Stockholm we hadn’t even heard of. It’s pretty great what you can discover in your own backyard. It was just one Bus ride away!

There are several reasons to choose a staycation for your next getaway.

My top 7 reasons are:

  1. It is Eco friendly meaning less carbon foot print.
  2. You save Money, we all love a great bargain.
  3. Know your heritage – After all, foreigners visit YOUR country too!
  4. Your friends and family are likely to join you!
  5. You start to appreciate your Hometown (the gras is not greener on the other side)
  6. Support your local Economy
  7. Up your tour guide game, you might wanna impress someone 😉

Stockholm U-Bahn Kunst

Unser Tag in Junibacken

Unser Tag in Junibacken mit Pippi Langstrumpf und co. (Astrid-Lindgren-Museum)

Brunch at Greasy Spoon

Founded by Brits and located at the heart of the hipster södermalm you find our go to brunch spot GREASY spoon. I come here almost everytime I’m in the mood for some good old brunch. They serve the brunch de la brunch, a hearty brunch and great coffee all day long, and best of all, no reservation needed! Come as you are, take a seat and get ready to leave with some food coma and unbuttoned jeans.
